Big Sky Land Management, previously known as Big Sky Fire Prevention, started in 2005 to provide a much-needed service to private landowners in Big Sky. We started with a small crew working mostly on private property removing beetle kill trees in order to reduce the chance of wildfires. Today, Big Sky Land Management employees 20+ people and specializes in excavation, forestry and snow removal services.
The founding owner, Justin Miller, grew up in Yellowstone National Park and worked on ranches from a young age. He learned from professionals and experts on both sides of the park boundary about proper land management techniques. After a career in sales and business development, Justin saw a need for better land management in Big Sky. He expanded his skills to provide property owners and developers with more efficient ways to manage their land through forestry and excavation services.
Since the beginning, Justin's focus has been to build a team of highly experienced heavy equipment operators, sawyers and landscapers. Our team is the most valuable asset to our company. Together we tackle big projects efficiently in order to reduce costs and hassle for our clients. It's common for our crew to complete projects on time and on budget.
In 2014, Justin and his wife, Danielle Miller, made a strategic decision for her to join him full-time in managing the business. Danielle graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Business Marketing. Before Big Sky Land Management she worked in sales, business management, event planning and operations. Her skill set has helped Big Sky Land Management better manage projects, employees and ultimately expand the productive of the business.
Big Sky Land Management's goal is to help developers, builders and property owners better manage their land and development projects. Our objective is to complete your project on time and on budget. Our experience, teamwork, and investment in equipment allows us to be extremely effective and ultimately saves our clients money.
